Summer Sessions returns for 2023!

Taking place at the Rosebank Playing Fields from Friday 14th July, Summer Sessions will see performances from bands and musicians like The Chair, Mike Vass, Isla Ratcliff. Thurso band Forgetting the Future are also set to play as well as the North Coast Ceilidh Trail with Carol-Anne Mackay.

A series of workshops for children and young people will also run across the 10 day event. Varying from drama workshops to drumming and DJing, all events are free to attend. There is also a pop-up family theatre show ‘Special Delivery’ and a chance for embarrassing dad-dancing at the family dance party

The Rosebank is set to be transformed into a fun festival site, with interactive installations from local artists Shelagh Swanson and Amanda Coghill. The LAC stretch tent will be out providing cover from the elements and a new bell tent will host storytelling and offer a relaxed chill out space. The fully licensed bar will be complemented by visits from Taco East – offering fresh tex mex – and the return for one weekend only of the hugely popular Caithness Pizza

Director Charlotte Mountford said ‘the team are so excited to be back in Wick for Summer Sessions. There really is something for everyone and we hope the events will complement a busy Summer for the town with it being county show and gala week. We can’t thank our partners at Wick Youth Club enough for hosting us again and, as ever, the support from the community is brilliant to see.’

Summer Sessions opens on Friday 14th July and will run until Sunday 23rd July. All events are free but some workshops require pre-booking.

The programme is supported by Caithness Beatrice Community Fund, Creative Scotland and Young Start.
