Green Spaces

Assistant Producer, Lauren Miller talks about her role with LAC and future plans for exploring Caithness’ green spaces…

‘I started working at LAC as part of the Unexpected Garden project in 2022, and since then my passion for creatively exploring Caithness’ wonderful green spaces through the lens of climate action has continued to grow. My role covers many areas, I work closely with project partners and the LAC team to coordinate our vast and bold events programme and I’m always on the lookout for new spaces to host a range of climate and community focused work. Through my role I ensure sustainability and environmentally-friendly practices are embedded in all the work we do. My role is challenging, and more so, it’s rewarding!’

In our 2024 programme we will continue to explore the global climate crisis in our local environment and the impact on the Caithness and North Sutherland community through place-based events: exploring spaces and sharing ideas about past, present and future climate action in the North Highlands and beyond.’

Lauren is determined to bring our socially-engaged and environmentally focused arts programme to all areas of Caithness, whether that is in harbours, halls or on top of hills – do you have any interesting spaces you would like to see us in?
