Janet Seidel (Jazz)Janet Seidel (Jazz)

Janet Seidel is described in the most recent ‘Penguin Guide to Jazz’ as: “Australia’s first lady of Jazz singing“. Janet, on vocals and piano, will be joined by her brother David Seidel on double Bass and Chuck Morgan on guitar.  This excellent trio from Down Under present much of the work of the late great Nat Cole Trio but Janet’s voice has been compared to the likes of Doris Day and Diana Krall and her repertoire also reflects this. This tour encompasses two major arts festivals and jazz clubs from Ireland and Scotland culminating in a return performance at the sophisticated mid-town club in New York: ‘Caterina’s’. After a performance in this club on a recent tour of America, Cabaret Hotline reviewer Stu Hamstra said of Janet:
I had heard so much about this delightful jazz star from Australia, but I was still not prepared for this awesome performance. I have never been so thrilled by a performer. This lady is amazing – such pure clean vocals!”
