Week #1 – Watercolour Pet Illustration
Friday 6th July, 6:00pm – 9:00pm
During this watercolour class, you will develop a pet or animal illustration of your choice, from an initial idea to a compelling finished piece with confidence. All basic aspects of watercolour painting will be covered. You will develop simple watercolour techniques to create a personalized gift of treasured pets or simply one of your favourite animals. Please bring a reference image, any animal welcome! Come along whether you are a watercolour whizz or a beginner, this course covers all the basics.
Techniques used: Wet on wet, dry on wet, dry and dry, layering, glazing, pallet mixing, different paper options and how they effect the paint, tips on painting from reference images.
Paint, brushes and paper provided or bring your own.
Hannah was born and bred in a little Northern Irish town near Lisburn before moving to Watten, then heading to University of West England, Bristol to study Animation/Illustration. After graduating, Hannah worked as an Animation Runner and Graphic Designer with clients like Royal Academy of Music, IDEAL, Bristol Science Museum and was commissioned by BBC Bristol to create a documentary about stranger danger on the web. Hannah then moved to back to Caithness in 2017 to set up her own business and be closer to nature, her family and write and illustrate children’s books.
