Inspired by utopian fiction and innovative environmental design, Drawing Utopia is a chance to explore the ways that our contemporary hopes and fears are reflected in our wildest imaginings. Led by Aimee Lockwood, a comic creator, illustrator and library worker based in Scrabster, you will create artwork across a series of modular tiles in collaboration (or competition!) with others, resulting in a patchwork-like piece that will be displayed at Lyth Arts Centre for the duration of The People’s Palace of Possibilities.

Drawing Utopia will run over three sessions, each with a different theme:

From robot farmers to forests in the sky, electric cars to underwater houses, high speed trains to intergalactic elevators: there are no limits in the utopia! But be careful – cities are built by groups, not individuals, and there’s a chance not all the players will have the citizens’ best interests at heart!

We recommend 8+ for this as it requires conceptual conversation of themes of Utopia and futures

This event is free to attend and doesn’t require booking.
