Join us in a reimagined, relaxed and immersive musical experience from four of Scotland’s foremost chamber musicians – described as “superb storytellers” by The Strad Magazine. Challenging the traditional formality of concerts, the newly-formed còmhradh collective (meaning “dialogue” or “conversation” in Gaelic) breaks down the performer-audience barrier and brings everyone together in a night that’s sure to be great craic – and at the same time a beautiful, soul-enriching experience.
The còmhradh collective is formed of members from Scotland’s internationally renowned bearded stringsters the Maxwell Quartet, composer and harpist Ailie Robertson, and singer, tv presenter and yoga coach from the Isle of Skye, Rhona Coogan. Together, and with local musicians and community members, they will take us on a journey through musical past and present, sharing the music that means the most to them, and featuring new and unique collaboration and improvisation, as well as audience participation (on a scale you are unlikely to have experienced at a gig before!)
Featuring classical & traditional music, yoga and breathing practice, food and drink, poetry, song, stories, and plenty of cups of tea and chat.
This event is in association with Chamber Music Scotland’s “Embedded Musicians” programme, focusing on mental health and accessibility.
All ages are welcome. Come and play a part in our ceilidh of calm!
