Call Out: Freelance Technicians
Lyth Arts Centre is looking to expand our pool of freelance theatre technicians, lighting technicians and sound engineers to support our busy year-round programme of performances and events.
We’re particularly interested in hearing from technicians with skills in:
- Theatre lighting design and operation
- Sound engineering and operation for live performance
- Technical support for festivals, outdoor events and unusual sites
- General technical support for small- to mid-scale theatre and touring work
What we can offer
- Regular ad-hoc work as part of a quarterly rota system
- £20 per hour (day rate £160 for up to 8 hours; half-day £100 up to 5 hours)
- Mileage for offsite gigs and events, plus fair cancellation terms
- A commitment to the Scottish Fair Work Framework: prompt payment, clear communication, dignity and respect in all working relationships
What we’re looking for
- Experienced freelance technicians based in or able to travel to Caithness
- Professional, reliable and confident working independently or as part of a small team
- Own insurance (public liability) and the right to work in the UK
