CAIR: Introduction to Art and Social Practice

As part of the continuation of CAIR: Caithness Artists in Residence we are pleased to launch a new, free programme of workshops called Introduction to Art and Social Practice.

The short programme is open to creative and community practitioners from Caithness who want to develop their skills in this field. You may be an artist who is interested in learning how to deliver socially-engaged projects, or a community support worker who would like to explore how you can bring arts and creativity into your role.

Each session will last approximately 2.5 hours and include sharings from CAIR artists and guest speakers, as well as practical work and group discussion.  Ideally participants will attend all three sessions. The sessions will be held online via zoom. The sessions are as follows:

Introduction to Art and Social Practice 1 | Wednesday 24 November 2021

The first session will cover project planning, ethical practice and successful collaboration.

Introduction to Art and Social Practice 2 | Wednesday 23 February 2022

This second session will explore art and activism, and safe guarding best practice.

Introduction to Art and Social Practice 3 | Wednesday 20 April 2022

The final session will explore place and context and how this shapes and informs social practice.

If you’d like to attend, please use the sign up form below.
