Lyth Arts Centre currently has a unique and exciting opportunity to recruit a Director to build on the success of the organisation over the past 40 years.
We are looking for a motivated and ambitious individual to lead a small team of staff and volunteers to deliver a dynamic programme of high quality performances and exhibitions to a well engaged and informed audience.
The Director will oversee all aspects of the audience experience from programming, promotion and delivery through to debriefing; and ensuring that all activities are done in line with our core values. Providing leadership and working with the Board, they will spearhead the future direction of Lyth Arts Centre and develop plans going forward to expand engagement with, and diversify, the audience base; both within the centre as well as further afield, in order to strengthen and develop the outreach programme.
The ideal candidate will be confident in their work and have the ability to shoulder responsibility as well as having a proactive and pragmatic approach to the creation and development of new opportunities for the centre. Ultimately this will result in the centre being recognised by a wide range of audiences, performers and funders as one of the principal touring arts venue in Scotland.
We are looking for an individual who has a strong interest in, and understanding of, the importance of access to cultural activities in a rural context, and has the ability to deliver innovative events and performances in the North of Scotland.
A genuine passion for, and knowledge of touring theatre and/or music is essential. A broad experience of the cultural sector and experience in venue management is desirable.
