Hebrides Ensemble

Join us for a performance by Hebrides Ensemble’s Huw Watkins and some of the finest young musicians from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Acclaimed pianist and composer, Huw, will be joining RCS students as part of the Ensembles’ Hebrides Academy programme, which offers expert coaching and performance opportunities to musicians and composers. This concert will mark the culmination of several days of coaching during which Huw and the students will put together a selection of repertoire including contemporary.

We believe that many of you will be as shocked and saddened as we were when we were informed that Lyth long-time visiting performer Janet Seidel has passed away. She performed here at Lyth many times over the years and we were always impressed and delighted with her consummate musical professionalism. Instantly recognisable for her unique refined vocal tone and pared down phrasing, her style evolved to capture the essence of every song she brought to life. She will be sadly missed not just by her family and friends but by musicians and music fans all over the world. ...
