26th June, 8pm. 2 hours including interval, age 8+

The Halton Quartet comprises the
collective talents within two of Scotland's most innovative and captivating
duos Angus Lyon/Ruaridh Campbell, and Wingin' It. This pair of duos have fused into the most exciting
new foursome on the Celtic/folk/fusion scene with mesmerising musicianship and
loads of personality. Two guitars, one fiddle and one accordion produce a wide
range of toe-tapping tunes and showmanship. Dubbed "The best new band on the block" the Halton Quartet make
music which is both rich in tradition and boldly forward-looking, with
arrangements that expand and develop melodic ideas with imagination, subtlety
and brio. Influenced by Argentinean tango master Astor Piazzolla, the European
classical school, New York jazz and Scottish tune forms – this is music with
genuine heart and soul.
