Lyth’s favourite band is kindly providing us with a free performance to help raise funds for the centre. This talented gang just love playing and they get better all the time. Caithness Big Band play numbers by the great swing bands of the 1930s and 40s – the Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington and Tommy Dorsey bands. In addition, the band has put its own stamp on a number of standards from that period and from more recent times. The band has the traditional line-up with saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and rhythm sections plus vocalist.
