Moishe’s Bagel in concert April 19, 2007
Moishe's Bagel in concertIt has taken several years for us to secure a date by this wonderful band as they are in great demand both here and abroad. Modern klezmer music has its origins in Jewish secular music with a repertoire largely composed of dance songs, often with Yiddish titles, for weddings and other social occasions.

However, in our own times this distinctive and highly expressive style has held a particular attraction to innovative musicians keen to savour traditional sounds, to add modern flavours and to produce yet another strand to what we now call world music, perhaps the most universal art form in today’s multicultural world.

N.B. this is an informal event with cabaret seating arranged around a space for dancing in the theatre, with lounge seating and a bar in the foyer providing lots of room for everyone.
